Adiabatic Cooling Water Treatment

Manufacturers of Adiabatic misting water spray systems, such as ChillBooster, normally recommend that deionised water be used to control hardness scale and mineral deposits building up on the heat exchangers. Build up can reduce heat transfer efficiency, damage the fins and coils, and significantly reduce the life of the heat exchangers.

Testing of spray water, associated with Adiabatic Cooling Systems, has shown that Legionella Bacteria, which causes Legionnaires’ Disease, are quite often present in untreated systems. Therefore, it is essential that a risk assessment be carried out on every system to ensure a safe workplace is being provided for all staff and visitors.

All Adiabatic Cooling Systems should be fitted with a UltraViolet (UV) Light Disinfection System to control bacteria, including Legionella.
